2-minute short assignment

Introduction Having until the 17th of January to hand this project in, I must plan, direct, film and edit a 2-minute short film. As for this short film, the story must be of a person entering a space where action is taking place, then they leave. Our perception of this character must be changed. Required: Must use eight shots at the least, but more is accepted. Must also include: Establishing shot. Mid shot. Close-up shot. POV shot. Reverse shot. Sound is not a requirement. Planning + pre-production With no idea as to what the plot of my story is going to be as of yet, I will need to be on the look out for inspiration. What I do know, is I need to get the production stage out of the way before going home for Christmas so I can get on with the editing at home in time to submit as filming whilst home wouldn't even be an option. Unless I can take a camera, but for now, to find the story. Story ideas.docx from AmyKilbride2 Happening quicker than expected, I have my story. With more pl...

Reading the Screen

26/9/23 Unsure of how exactly to lay out this blog, I am hoping just to do it the same as I did throughout college. Documenting my process with projects and everything around that, so the same shall be done here... Only somewhat differently of course. (Actors, studio, genres, and auteurs). Familiarising with film theory and contemporising developments. To help us with this course as a whole, two books based around the making of films were suggested to us. 'Film Art: Introduction', by D and K Thompson and 'The Cinema Book', by Pan ...

6/11/23 Being accepted onto an online media programme, today was our first webinar that is more or less just an introduction to the production with the first real session beginning tomorrow and will be going on for a duration of four weeks. Meeting Laurie Stewart, the CEO and founder of Mindless, she talked of her work life before Mindless and how she began working on the company as a side hustle before making it full time only this year. We did also get to meet Georgia Knell, the partnership manager who also shared her experiences before discovering Mindless. Also claiming to have been an intern around three to four year ago now. Focusing more on personal growth, they talked a lot about the programme being made more for discovering the best version of yourself rather than making a CV look pretty. "Personal transformation journey." With three key targets, Mindset, Skills and Experience, each session has been split into three parts: Mindset coaching Digital skill coaching Soci...
