In our 'making images unit', we have been put into four groups to take the cameras out and bring back a set of images, providing we use the techniques learnt that session, with a mini brief setting everyone with their own challenges.
Being in group three with Thomas, here is what we must capture:
- Joanie stares straight at him. It is an uncomfortable moment.
- Donne is smartly dressed in a shirt, tie and polished shoes.
- We can see in the distance two people having a chat.
- Ruthie's eyes narrow evilly.
With that, I can already picture a few ideas and will need to sketch them out before we go out.

Only having time to do two in the end, the Donnie one was the first we got done.

Needing something fancy of course, none of that was exactly accessible for us so we took things into our own hands and created a bow tie out of origami for the costume.
Preferring this image to the rest, I preferred the closer-up version where we can clearly see the character adjusting his attire.
But with the sentence wanting more than that down to his shoes, we attempted that in more of a rushed manner that could have been down a lot better.
Going with this over-the-shoulder shot, out of the five I much prefer the result of this one. Going higher with the framing catching a glimpse of the adjustment from both the real figure and his reflection.
We still didn't capture the shoes but it was difficult trying to figure everything out at once at the same time of having so much spare room to capture exactly everything. But again, I like the result of we see this character getting ready for an event that could be anything.
Moving onto the next one, we wanted to play around more with this one getting out the coloured lights I had used for my college film project.
'Ruthies eyes narrow evilly'
With this I imagined that classic, extreme close-up on the eyes with purple and green balancing off each other on the face.
Taking it in turns with this one, with my first attempt I am really happy with the outcome of the second image. (The first being mid adjustment).
For a real attempt, we did rotate with Thomas attempting the camerawork with me as the model. Having trouble with getting the camera to focus we then swapped back which lead to these...
Unable to capture the extreme-close up as imagined, it was the regular close up we went with. And for what we got in the end, I am quite pleased with. Although more effort should have gone into this as a whole, the second sequence was the most fun and intimate I had gotten with the camera.

Given a practical task to get on with, in our same groups we were asked to produce videos to the same briefs given last week. For this one, me and Thomas made our way back to our accommodation to film in one of our kitchens avoiding the rain. The chosen sentences we had went with this time were:
- Louis looks around and sees that he is alone.
- Donnie is smartly dressed in shirt and tie and polished shoes.
- Ruthie's eyes narrow evilly.
- We can see that all the others have gone, and only one bag remains.
Only getting three of the four done, the camera had died on us just as we were getting round to filming the smartly dressed one with the idea of reusing the bow tie prop, and doing a tilting frame looking up and down the smartly dressed character.
